Setting and reporting performance
against our Sustainability & ESG
priorities remains a key component of
Our Approach to Sustainability & ESG.
Overall, 29Metals made progress against the majority of the
2023 Sustainability & ESG priori琀椀es. However, the impact of
the Extreme Weather Event at Capricorn Copper10, along with
formula琀椀ng and successfully implemen琀椀ng the Capricorn Copper
Recovery Plan as a business-cri琀椀cal ac琀椀vity, impacted tangible
progress on a number of the 2023 Sustainability & ESG priori琀椀es.
While most have been progressed, some remained incomplete
at year-end. Details on the extent of progress achieved on 2023
priori琀椀es is set out in the sec琀椀on of this report dealing with each
of the core dimensions in Our Approach to Sustainability & ESG.
For the purposes of se琀�ng Sustainability & ESG priori琀椀es
for 2024, we reviewed our performance against the 2023
priori琀椀es to iden琀椀fy areas for improvement in 2024, and to
inform our approach to se琀�ng priori琀椀es for 2024 and beyond.
The review con琀椀nued to consider feedback from internal and
external stakeholders received during 2022 and 2023, as well
as 2022 materiality assessment inputs from stakeholders.
Key learnings from performance against the 2023 priori琀椀es
included the:

management systems and collec琀椀on of quality data to be琀琀er

the local community and supply chain to solidify the Group’s
social licence to operate; and

the Performance Improvement Program (‘PIP’).
To support improved delivery in 2024, the Group’s senior
leadership are collabora琀椀ng with func琀椀onal teams, both at head
o昀케ce and on-site, to incorporate ac琀椀ons for implemen琀椀ng
the proposed priori琀椀es into departmental “plans on a page”
which will be tracked and reported against internally.
